Special $100 Edition Available in Limited Quantities This Fall
An HD remake of the first Disgaea game, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, has been announced for the West. Simply titled Disgaea 1 Complete, it will be released this fall on both PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
As detailed by PlayStation blog, Disgaea 1 Complete arrives on the 15th anniversary of the classic 2003 PS2 game. It will retain the same classic story and gameplay of the original with updated HD visuals from the series’ most recent entry, Disgaea 5. It features English and Japanese audio options and subtitles. There is also a new Etna Mode, which features new characters not found in the PS2 original.
The remake will be available in two varieties, the standard $50 release and the special $100 Rosen Queen’s Finest Edition of Disgaea 1 Complete. The latter will be available for purchase from the NIS America online store in limited quantities. Below are its contents:

Disgaea: Hour of Darkness was the first game in the popular strategy RPG series. The story follows Laharl, the prince of Netherworld, on his journey to reclaim his rightful place on the throne following his father’s death. During his travels, he meets and befriends a cast of unlikely allies who help him on his mission.
