Conan the Barbarian Reaches Consoles
An MMO with creative storytelling, brutality and an expansive world of diverse biospheres – That’s Conan Exiles in a nutshell. Thanks to the hard work of the devs over at Funcom, the expansive video game based on the Conan mythos is leaving Early Access and making it’s way over to the PlayStation 4. To make the experience more enticing, the game has doubled in size since release.
14 months of Early Access has given Funcom enough time to improve and build upon the foundation of Conan Exiles. All the bells and whistles of a great multiplayer experience lie at the ready, including a diverse open world with scorching deserts, frozen wastelands, and strange crags of perversion. As an example, we’ll witness the addition of The Swamp, where players shall discover Lemurians “who perform orgiastic rituals to worship Derketo, the twin-natured goddess who walks the line between lust and death,” a press release revealed. Of course, there’s a lot more to discover in the online sandbox.
“Conan Exiles is a survival game combining brutal combat, powerful building systems, and intense player vs. player warfare, all set in a vast and open sandbox,” said Creative Director Joel Bylos. “But it’s certainly not an empty sandbox and we’ve gone to great lengths to give the world a sense of place and history. Players will come upon points of interest as they explore the world, characters they can interact with, and they can delve into dungeons and uncover the secrets of ancient civilizations. Conan Exiles is definitely about surviving and building your own world, but it’s also about discovering the world that we have crafted.”
