It is being developed by Frontier Developments, who worked on the RollerCoaster Tycoon series as well as Elite: Dangerous.

“As long-time fans of the entire Jurassic series we’re thrilled to be putting players in charge of their own Jurassic World,” said Jonny Watts, Frontier Developments’ Chief Creative Officer. “We’re excited to bring over fifteen years of management, simulation, and creature development expertise to a destination and franchise that remains an inspiration to us.”

Recently, Jeff Goldblum confirmed that he is returning for the role of Dr. Ian Malcolm. Although his exact role is unclear, he said that he will “be with you the whole game.”

Frontier has also commented on his role.

“Jeff Goldblum as Dr. Ian Malcolm guides players through the moral choices and tactical decisions that will test their building and management skills as they attempt to successfully run their own Jurassic World,” they said.

Evolution gives players the chance to run their own Jurassic Park. You will be able to control Isla Nublar and its nearby islands, creating new breeds of dinosaur and attractions to show them off. Frontier says that the game will feature “an all-new story that touches on key characters and events from across the Jurassic World film franchise.”

The game’s official excerpt is below.

“Jurassic World Evolution evolves players’ relationship with the Jurassic World film franchise, placing them in control of operations on the legendary island of Isla Nublar and the surrounding islands of the Muertes Archipelago. Players will build their own Jurassic World as they bioengineer new dinosaur breeds and construct attractions, containment and research facilities.”
