Shovel Up Some Shelf Space For This One
It won’t be too long before SteamWorld Dig 2 is out in the world, its depths ready to be plumbed. When the time comes to get shovelin’ you’ll have a choice to make: digital or physical? That’s right, the upcoming shovel-based adventure is also getting a physical release!
If you’re not up on the series and its charms, SteamWorld is a metroidvania wherein you explore straight down instead of all over the place. There’s a satisfying rhythm involved in progressing as far as you can before you’re forced to return, riches and/or wounds in tow. The sequel expands on the original with new abilities, new locales and more of a fleshed-out story.
The physical edition will come with a poster and a reversible inlay, although we still haven’t seen the return of the instruction booklet. While this is a terrible tragedy, it’s still lovely having something you can stuff on a shelf for the whole world to witness. SteamWorld Dig 2 has no concrete release date just yet, but with a Spring release window, we’re fast approaching the time of its arrival. It’s already February, after all. Pre-orders aren’t available just yet, but you can keep track of when they begin here.
