Past Cure Developers Have Twitter Meltdown

Past Cure Developer Isn’t off to a Good Start

Past Cure hasn’t been very well-received, not here or by other publications. So naturally, when the developer, Phantom 8 Studios, asked for feedback on their game via Twitter, people responded. But things didn’t go too well after that.

Past Cure

Here’s their first tweet:

“We want to ask you for feedback on #pastcure. First we take care about the atmosphere. What do you like and where do you see some space for improvements? Level Design, Light, Shadows, Effects, Sound, etc.? Thanks for your comments.”

Now here’s their first response:

“Not interested in bad reviews. There is a lot of stuff you didn’t talk about. We are proud what we achieved with our 8 men indie dev team and that you compare us to dishornered [sic] which is a multimillion $ production. Is someone out there who would review the reviewers work? Thanks.”

If you’re going to ask for feedback, saying you’re “not interested in bad reviews” isn’t a good start.

But that’s not all. When it was suggested that the price is too high for a company trying to present themselves as a “legit game developer,” they responded with this:

“Where do we present us as a legit game developer? We always said that we are completely new to the business and worked with a really inexperienced 8 men dev team.”

The tweets have since been deleted, but it looks like the damage has been done. Hopefully Phantom 8 Studios will take some of the feedback in and not get so angry next time people offer constructive criticism.

The game’s official excerpt is below:

“Past Cure is a cinematic, story driven experience where the player follows the struggle of a broken man searching for the missing pieces of his mind. With intense cutscenes and intriguing story items throughout the levels, the players can unravel a story that will keep them guessing til the end.”
