Kingdom Hearts III Trailer Drops at D23 Expo Japan 2018

At this year’s D23 Expo Japan 2018, a new Kingdom Hearts III trailer was shown, featuring the rumored/leaked Monster Inc. world. Alongside this specific reveal, the four minute trailer also provided additional glimpses of gameplay and the worlds of Tangled and Toy Story.

In addition to this trailer, the new theme song was revealed and is being performed by J-pop singer Utada Hikaru. For those who do not know, Hikaru also performed the two theme songs for Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II.

During the D23 Expo Japan 2018 event, further details about the game were revealed, including that Gummi Ship segments would feature exploration and combat. Lastly, it was revealed that the release date, which is still tentatively scheduled for 2018 as revealed at last years D23 Expo, will be revealed at this year’s E3.

The series, a collaborative effort between Disney Interactive and Square Enix, last received a mainline entry (Kingdom Hearts II) in 2006, though side stories and gap-filling games have released since. At last year’s D23 Expo in Japan, the Toy Story world was revealed. With no shortage of fan-requested worlds, another rumored world is that of Frozen, which one would expect due to its massive success.

Kingdom Hearts III, which has been widely anticipated since its announcement at E3 2013, is likely to finally release this year if its release date will be announced at E3. Kingdom Hearts III is set to release on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
