Assassin’s Creed Origins New Game Plus Could Come in a Future Update

Ubisoft Responds to Fan Feedback

Ubisoft has been paying attention to their fans’ comments since before Assassin’s Creed Origins launched. Now that we’re in post-launch, the French company said they’re considering adding the highly demanded New Game Plus, which would improve upon an already robust experience.

The developer’s claim came in a recent Q & A: “We know that a large number of community members have requested a New Game+ feature. We are currently investigating the possibility of implementing this option in a future title update,” said a Ubisoft representative. And just like in many great titles, players will be able to restart the campaign and replay the story after their initial playthrough. But, of course, the biggest appeal behind New Game Plus is the luxury of retaining all collected items and stats.

Since launch, Ubisoft has implemented a plethora of updates for Assassin’s Creed: Origins. Many of them were for the sake of fixes, but some have added new features and improvements. For example, the game received an enhanced photo mode, HDR, and better combat. With all the aforementioned changes out of the way, it stands to reason that the game would receive a New Game Plus. As always, however, such changes are made at the developer’s discretion.

In addition to the prospect of a New Game Plus, Ubisoft said there will be more Legacy Outfits, beginning with Edward Kenway. Furthermore, updated information on expansion content was released:

  • The Hidden Ones [Expansion #1]
  • This expansion takes place years after the events of Assassin’s Creed Origins in a new region occupied by a Roman force. Bayek and the new Assassins will clash with the Romans as the Brotherhood continues to grow. Slated for release in January 2018.
  • The Curse of the Pharoahs [Expansion #2]
  • The second expansion focuses on Egyptian mythology, pitting players against undead pharaohs and famed Egyptian monsters. Bayek will need to explore a mystical new realm and discover the root of the curse that has brought these creatures to life. Scheduled for a March 2018 launch.
