Red Dead Redemption 2 May Be Coming This June
Back in November, we told you how people were so eager for the arrival of Red Dead Redemption 2 that they committed to discovering the game’s map size before we even got a release date. Today we learned that the release date for Rockstar’s highly anticipated Red Dead Redemption 2 may have been leaked. This thanks to European retailer Coolshop.
Coolshop is a popular video game chain and they have Red Dead Redemption 2 listed on their site with a June 8, 2018, release date.
Typically, retailers post release dates as placeholders and you can usually dismiss them. However, Coolshop has a history of somewhat accurately leaking Rockstar games’ release dates before the dates have been released to the public. So this June release date could be for real.
For instance, Coolshop pre-maturely posted Grand Theft Auto V’s release date with a November 14, 2014, launch date. Once the internet caught on, the retailer changed the date to December 31. The game was eventually released on November 18, four days behind the site’s targeted prediction. Using this logic, it seems possible that Red Dead Redemption 2’s release date could be June 8 or certainly right around that time. The GTA V leak announced the game’s release on a Friday and the game finally came out on a Tuesday four days later. June 8 also happens to be a Friday, so who knows if we see the same scenario play out again in 2018.
It should also be noted, June 12 is the first day of E3 2018, the popular LA video game convention, and it would make sense for Rockstar to attempt to capitalize on the hype. Red Dead Redemption 2 was officially announced at E3 2017, so it wouldn’t be too far-fetched of an idea to assume they’d release the game a year later.
All of this needs to be taken with a huge grain of salt as Rockstar has not released any official information on the games release date.
