New PS4 Pro Releasing the Same Day as the Xbox One X
Sony’s PS4 Pro has been available for over a year now but consumers haven’t had much choice when it comes to colour variation. There is a Destiny 2 bundle that offered a white version of the console but there was no way to buy it without the game. That may change as soon as next week, according to a retailer website leak.
A leak from Smyths Toys has revealed the “Glacier White” PS4 Pro and that it is releasing on November 7th, the same day as Microsoft’s Xbox One X. Coincidence?
Fans have speculated whether or not Sony will have something ready to combat against Microsoft’s powerful new machine. While a strong conference at Paris Games Week may have altered the conversation back in Sony’s favour, many of the games on display won’t be available until 2018. Granted, a new colour option isn’t the same as launching a new console but previous white PlayStation consoles have been very successful for the company.
Judging from the leak, the white version will keep the same price but don’t be surprised if Sony cuts the PS4 Pro price temporarily during Black Friday. A leaked Black Friday ad sprouted up on the web last week that may have revealed significant price cuts on both PS4’s and Xbox Ones. Sony is certainly in an interesting position this Holiday now that they don’t have the luxury of being the more powerful console.
