The 2nd Zelda DLC May be Revealed this November
When it comes to Nintendo, our demand is never-ending. Now, let’s talk about what’s coming next for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Fans will be happy to know that the 2nd expansion, titled The Champion’s Ballad, is still on track.
Speaking with Kotaku, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime was in town to talk about Super Mario Odyssey. So, naturally, he was asked about Breath of the Wild. Content for the next expansion was announced back in E3 2016, but, if you look at the Nintendo’s roadmap, we still don’t have a release date.
What Nintendo did announce were the new amiibo coming November 10th. When asked if this was an indication of the expansion release date, Fils-Aime responded: “We will shortly be announcing the date for that content, so I would not lock and load on November 10th.”
During the conversation, Fils-Aime talked further about the Nintendo Switch and new incoming features. Among them was Netflix, which he said would come “in due time.” Furthermore, there was the matter of a “Switch-specific” rewards program. Will players get any perks or free downloads for subscribing to the online service?
“There are unique elements coming for Nintendo Switch,” said Fils-Aime. “We’ll be announcing those in due time. We do believe having a strong loyalty program for all of our products is important and certainly our fans appreciate it.”
In case you missed it, the Nintendo Switch recently got an update that gives GameCube controller functionality. The president explained: “In our latest system software update, it enables third-party peripherals to work on Nintendo Switch. As a result, the peripheral for Wii U that allows it to attach GameCube controllers also works.”
