Wizard Battle 2017 Continues with Grimoire: Manastorm

Guns Are So Last Year, You Guys

First there was Fictorum, then we got Citadel: Forged with Fire. Now there’s Grimoire: Manastorm, proving that guns are stupid and we just need to be slinging spells at each other all the time from now on. This newest entry in the ‘guns aren’t fun anymore’ magical FPS catalogue is finally leaving Steam’s Early Access program later this month.

Grimoire: Manastorm

You’ve got six different classes to pick from, leaving a pretty wide variety of potential spells for the slinging and the raining down of fiery hell. Of course, ‘classes’ is kind of a misnomer. They’re all wizards. Instead of warriors, rogues, bards and casters you’ve got elements. Pick from ice, lightning, fire, nature, nether or earth. The game is free-to-play, which leaves you with three options. You can either use one of the two free classes in rotation, buy the other classes outright or earn the currency to purchase them in-game.

There’s allegedly a single-player option, though I’m sure it’s pretty lame compared to the multiplayer. There’s a sale on right now that gives you every class for 25% less than usual, though I recommend actually trying the game first. What if you hate it? Although, given the frenetic action on display in the trailer below, maybe you won’t hate it at all? Grimoire: Manastorm is leaving Early Access on October 26th, 2017.
