Destiny 2 Will Not Have a Halloween Event This Year and Here’s Why

Destiny 2 Halloween Event 2017

Have you noticed that there isn’t a trace of Halloween to be found within Destiny 2? Unfortunately it has been confirmed that there will not be a Festival of the Lost event or anything similar this year. According to David ‘DeeJ’ Dague, Bungie community manager, there’s a reason for this.

Recently a Destiny 2 fan asked Dague whether there was going to be a Festival of the Lost event, to which the response was a resounding no. At least he didn’t leave us hanging though, as he delved into the reason behind the lack of a Halloween event this year. According to Bungie, Season 1 of Destiny 2 is all about the launch and ritual activation. You can check out the exchange on Twitter below.

By the sounds of it though, not all is lost, no pun intended, as fans of the series can likely expect to see the Festival of the Lost return next year. Of course it also seems like Bungie is really trying to increase the anticipation of the upcoming Christmas event for Destiny 2, The Dawning. This year’s version of this Christmas event will include some awesome winter cosmetic items, as well as a full set of Dawning-themed armor. In addition, Bungie is also adding snowball fights and ice hockey to The Farm!

Last month Destiny 2 launched for both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, and tomorrow it will finally be available for PC players who have been waiting in anticipation to start playing. Hopefully PC will have a more consistent player base, because so far the console version has seen a steady decrease in the amount of players participating in the game. Of course, who knows what this lack of Halloween event will do, but we can only wait to see.
