Developers Give Us an Update as They Move Forward in the Hit Racing Franchise
Ghost Games is keeping things under the hood with their next Need for Speed. However, they are still reminding us that the game is in development and coming this year. Hard to say exactly what we’ll see, but Ghost dropped some recent hints.
For starters, the next Need for Speed will maintain and expand on “core gameplay brand pillars.” Essentially, we’ll see some familiarity to the 2015 reboot. There will be racing offroad and on the tarmac; expect police chases; expect customization. We simply don’t know the amount of customization that will be available yet.
Furthermore, this next Need for Speed will opt out of the “always online” feature. Which means you can actually pause the game as you please. It’s already a step up. More about the single-player experience will come later.
Ultimately, Ghost Games has listened to fan feedback. Everything they learned will be used to improve their upcoming sequel. Will it be the best Need for Speed? Time will tell.
Without an official release date, all we know is that the racing sequel is coming later this year. You can read up more on the developer blog post here. And for more of the latest as it comes, you can check back with us at COGconnected.
See you come race time.
