Remedy Entertainment Gets Publisher, But Don’t Expect Max Payne Sequel

Remedy Entertainment has a partner in crime! Remedy entered into a publishing agreement with 505 Games to produce a brand-new title, codenamed “P7”. Sorry, all you Max Payne hopefuls, this ain’t your beat.

In a press release, Remedy announced that the title will be “a cinematic third person action game set in a new Remedy-created universe”. It also confirmed that the title will be relased for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

From the official release: “Featuring an intriguing story and a game structure offering a long-lasting experience. P7 contains the deepest game mechanics yet in a Remedy game.”

Remedy Entertainment Partnership

Raffaele Galante, CEO of Digital Bros (505’s parent company) commented on the partnership, saying “It is a sign of how far 505 Games has come that we are now in a position to partner with such a talented development studio as Remedy Entertainment”.

505 Games has slowly been building steam with its titles as well: Terraria was a substantial hit, Payday 2 was a HUGE success, and the Sniper Elite series have gained popularity considerably. They’ve definitely been making some moves, and having this partnership with Remedy Entertainment puts 505 Games in a position to increase the momentum.

Remedy Entertainment’s CEO, Tero Virtala weighed in: “We have a strong vision of what P7 should be. 505 Games brings into this partnership experience and competences that help us successfully make this vision become reality together. Remedy is also investing in P7 and is deeply committed to creating an unique gaming experience that will keep the players engaged and playing for a long time to come. We are really excited to embark on this journey with 505 Games.”

Remedy has been busy adding new stories and IPs to their list of games, with the mystery-thriller series Alan Wake and the time-bending Quantum Break. It will be interesting to see where this new project will take them.

The codenamed “P7” project will receive €7.75 million in funding from 505 Games, in return for a payment of 45% royalties on net sales.
