We Continue on the Path We Began in The Force Awakens
It may have been but a matter of time before Star Wars Celebration brought us the first trailer for Star Wars The Last Jedi. Yet here it is, and we’re nearly as breathless as anyone under a force choke. Now witness the first trailer for the first sequel of the next trilogy:

Up until this point, we only knew the movie’s title, a title that sparked numerous questions; specifically, fans questioned whether Luke Skywalker would die. Such was the speculation until it was revealed that the word “Jedi” is plural. Thus, the galaxy could breathe a sigh of relief. Maybe.
In this new trailer, we see the return of our new and beloved Star Wars characters. However, we are left with several questions. Aside from the obvious–Rey’s being trained in the ways of the Jedi–we know little about where this next adventure will lead. Fin is still caught in his coma, and Poe Dameron looks like he’s about to destroy another three-dozen or so tie-fighters. In time, we may learn just how far ahead the movie follows after The Force Awakens. Perhaps Rey will be a full-fledged Jedi by Christmas time. Perhaps Kylo Reno will be a Sith Lord. Hard to say.
On a related note, our next Star Wars experience to precipitate The Lad Jedi will come in the form of Star Wars: Battlefront 2. Expect to see the game by Electronic Arts and DICE interweave the events of past movies and this.
