Photoshop Gives Mass Effect Andromeda Serious Facial Reconstruction

This Is Your Face Tired; This Is Your Face Not Tired

Ever since before the release of Mass Effect Andromeda, the in-game facial animations have come under scrutiny. You may even say they have been the bane of BioWare’s existence, delivering some funny meme ammunition. That being the case, one gamer took to photoshop to apply some facial fixes.

Mass Effect Andromeda Latest Mass Effect Patch

Female Ryder has probably been the most widely-criticized character. This may be due to her swollen likeness of actual model Jayde Rossi. Because of the comparison, many gamers can’t (or can, everything is subjective) get past the blowfish visage. Otherwise, hers might seem like an acceptable face, not taking into account the everlasting Joker grin. See the before-and-after beauty down below:

As the cohorts at GameRant would say, “Each tweak is subtle on its own, but they all come together to make a big difference.” And that is completely true. Everything–the eyes, cheekbones, hair, and mouth–has been slightly modified to define a sharper face.

Then another facial photoshop emerged online, this one for Mass Effect Andromeda’s main Asari, Peebee.

Unlike the former, this one looks exceedingly feminine. Instead of forming a few tweaks, we have what looks like a reimagining of the character. Whereas the goal in modifying Ryder seemed to be applying fixes, this one’s objective seems to be making her attractive. Well, they succeeded. But keep in mind folks, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you like Mass Effect Andromeda’s facial animations, more power to you.

Mass Effect Andromeda is currently available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. BioWare is still in the process of patching the game’s aesthetics, along with adding some tweaks here and there. Feel free to comment down below letting us know your thoughts on these photoshop comparisons. Do you think BioWare could have achieved these visuals in the game?
