Xbox Executive Denies Taking Shots at PS4 Pro

Xbox Marketing Manager Says He Did Not Take Shots at the PS4 Pro

A few days ago, the specs were revealed for the latest Xbox console, Project Scorpio. Each unit will have a CPU featuring eight custom x86 cores, clocked at 2.3 GHz, a custom GPU with 40 customized compute units clocked at 1172MHz, an unprecedently high clock speed for a console, and 12GB of GDDR5 RAM. Players will also have a 1TB, 2.5-inch hard drive to play around with, and a 4K UHD Blue-ray Drive. By the look of things, this newest console will be a beast!

Microsoft managers and Xbox fans alike are getting pretty excited about the console and are sharing it all over the various social media platforms. This is happening so much so in fact, that a couple of days ago Albert Penello, Senior Director of Product Management and Planning at Microsoft, answered a question on Twitter about whether the Xbox Scorpio will have a “boost mode” similar to the PlayStation 4 Pro. He responded with the following:

Of course the internet went into a tizzy with this Tweet, stating that he took a shot at the PS4 Pro system. Albert responded to the criticism on the same day, saying that he did not take a shot at PlayStation. He stated, “It’s not a shot. I wish people didn’t take it that way. I was asked a question and tried to explain it in a simple way.” Check out the tweet below:

What do you think? Are people just looking for more ammunition for the war between consoles and his statement was misinterpreted or did he indeed take a shot at the PS4 Pro? Let us know in the comments below.
