And What Is This? Black Ghosts in Destiny 2?
Some time ago, Bungie announced their huge showcase for Destiny 2 which will be on May 18. Turns out, it’s going to be a big, spotlighted premier with plenty of attendees in Los Angeles. There will be members of the Press and game industry persons. But, the livestream invitations came with a peculiar message of what’s to come.
All photos come courtesy of Playstationlifestyle. Easily the most eye-catching aspect of the invitation is this dark sentence beside the image of a dead Ghost, “Welcome to a World Without Light.”
As Destiny fans are already aware, Light is the source of power for all Guardians. As a matter of fact, it’s the power keeping player characters alive. Because, in case you forgot, we all started out the game dead. Thus, everyone gets a Ghost that links Guardians to the Light and enables Earth to combat its various enemies who serve darkness. But now, it seems we’re going into the next game without that power source… Eerie silence.
We saw the worldwide reveal trailer and we saw that Humanity’s last bastion, the Tower, has fallen. That was already a sign of things to come, but now things seem darker. This new black ghost also present in the invitation might be a hint at the story’s direction.
Could we see the beginning of altered game mechanics when Destiny 2 arrives? We’ll have to wait until the premiere to find out. We’ll be present at Bungie’s livestream event and will be sure to keep you updated.
Until then, let us know your thoughts on these looming signs and message. Do you think Destiny 2 will be wholly void of light? Comment down below.
