Get Your Genesis out of Storage and Get Ready to Brawl with ‘PAPRIUM’
Remember Streets of Rage? WaterMelon Games is looking to take you back in time to the heyday of side-scrolling brawlers with PAPRIUM, a brand new title coming out for the Sega Genesis. Yes, that Genesis. The one you’ve got in storage with Sonic 2 and Ecco the Dolphin.
Brought to you by the makers of Pier Solar and the Great Architects, PAPRIUM promises an experience replete with sweet combos, wicked sprites and great tunes. At present, this title is available only for Sega Genesis and/or Megadrive. Perhaps if sales do well, WaterMelon will expand this release to include other lost Sega platforms. Pier Solar is available on almost everything that plays Sega games, even the good old Sega CD.
WaterMelon had to pull out all the stops for the production of this cart, making use of the “DT128M16VA1LT” chipset. At 80 MB, this is the largest cartridge ever made for Sega’s 16-bit console. Although the game is set at $89, pre-orders are expected to go pretty quick. Curious collectors will want to act fast if they hope to have this one on their shelf.
