Toukiden 2

Play as one of many Slayers, the neutral force between rival Imperial Guard and Samurai. When you’re not caught diffusing their quarrel, you will find the helpful shrine maidens working against the evil terrorizing the land. Additionally, you will meet others Slayers with unique characteristics. As you progress, they will help you in battle with their own special abilities and weapons. And two new characters were just announced as part of the fold: Samurai Kamuna and the young Slayer Tsubaki, making a total of seven companions thus far. On top of more characters, we also obtain more weapons in this game than the previous one:

“Toukiden 2 offers a multitude of diverse weapons to suit any combat style, including swords, spears, knives, gauntlets, chain-sickles (kusarigama), bows, clubs, polearms, and rifles. Additionally, two series-first weapon types make their debut in Toukiden 2: the Sword & Shield, a combination offering a solid blend of offense and defense, and the Chain Whip, which allows for fast-paced maneuvers that can quickly tear apart Oni flesh. Each armament can be used for light and heavy attacks alike, and each offers special abilities that can be combined with the versatile Demon Hand to balance the scales of power when battling Oni”

Moreover, the weapons and armor in Toukiden 2 utilize a unique power known as Mitama – souls of fallen heroes. Dropped from slain yokai, players can infuse any one of several elements into their weapon. Thus, gaining unique abilities, from healing, to dodging, to controlling your own yokai. The more you harvest, the more diverse your skill set.
