Dedicated Streamer Played Through 714 Games in Three Years
Piotr Delgado “The Mexican Runner” Kusielczuk has finished every NES game ever made, a task the streamer began just under three years ago.
The endeavor began with Whomp ‘Em on May 28th, 2014. From there, Kusielczuk made his way through 678 more North American titles and 35 PAL exclusives. Yesterday he completed the final game, Super Mario Bros. 3. While the task seems pretty straightforward, there were a lot of games that had no definitive ending. In cases like that, the streamer simply played until the game started to loop or progress was otherwise impossible to make. Another one of the more unconventional titles was Miracle Piano Teaching System. Beating that particular game required him to learn to play the piano.
In total, the massive undertaking required 3,435 hours. Previously known for his speedruns of NES and Super NES games, Kusielczek took on this project on the recommendations of his friends. Rather than a challenge of speed, this was more of an endurance run. Although it’s an unwieldy, imposing number, other streamers and dedicated players will likely take on this challenge in the future. Perhaps in a few years, someone will rise up to take on those 714 games even faster.
