The Newest Free Expansion For Shovel Knight, Specter of Torment, Is Finally Complete and Will Be Available to Play This Spring
Yacht Club Games announced over Twitter that the latest expansion for their beloved Shovel Knight game, Specter of Torment, has reached completion! Specter of Torment will be the second expansion to Shovel Knight and will be free to download for people who already own the game this spring.
Each campaign coming to Shovel Knight is a stretch goal from way back when they launched their Kickstarter, so this is just the latest addition to a list of their completed stretch goals, which will be including a battle mode later on this year.

Their previous expansion, Plague of Shadows, which allowed you to play as the character, was met with high demand and praise when it released back in September of 2015. Following in this expansions footsteps, Specter of Torment will allow players to take control of the fearsome Specter Knight. He’s decked out in full Grim Reaper gear and carries a menacing scythe, so you can probably expect some chilling encounters.
The next campaign is also in the works, which will be following the character King Knight on his adventures. However, other than the fact that it’s going to be featuring this character, nothing else has been said outside of this GIF.

No release date has been set for the latest expansion, but later this spring you can expect it to be launching on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Wii U, 3Ds, Mac, PC, and Linux. Shovel Knight will also be coming to the Nintendo Switch, for Nintendo lovers who just can’t get enough of Shovel Knight.
Due to the expansions, the price of Shovel Knight will be increasing soon, so if you’re wanting to try it out and get some cool new expansions along with it, now is your chance to snag it!
