Nearly 6000 Pokemon Sun and Moon Cheaters Were Caught and Banned From Online Game Features by The Pokemon Company
The Pokemon Company has cracked down on nearly 6000 Pokemon Sun and Moon cheaters who had tampered with their save files using third party software. Cheating includes modifications to items and trainer info, hacks, and illegal Pokemon.
These players were permanently banned from using the game’s Global Link system and its online features, such as online matches, multiplayer, battle competitions, and Global Events. If a cheater attempts to access any one of these, they will instead see Error Code: 090-0212.
The Pokemon Company stated that the exact number of cheaters totals to 5954. They have also added that they will be taking “similar measures on a regular basis” as a fair warning to any other players intending to hack the game to gain an unfair advantage. The Pokemon Company has cracked down on cheaters before, as they banned 1500 Pokemon X and Y players that had modified that game from playing an online tournament.
