Rocksteady Is Working on a Superman Game Says Reddit User
Rumors have been circulating for quite some time that Rocksteady is currently working on a video game dedicated to Superman. The rumor has picked up some steam lately after a Reddit user by the name “TheLeakguin” confirmed the rumor and this fella has been a reliable source in the past.
This particular Reddit “insider” seems to be well informed about this mysterious project and said the following in his post:
“Rocksteady started work on a Superman game but have run into many issues. Superman had to be depowered for part of the game and even at maximum strength they had him be much weaker than he normally is (there are skins that make him unstoppable). The plot saw him facing off against magical foes, as well as familiar faces like Lex Luthor and Metallo that would utilize Kryptonite. There was also a challenge mode, much like in the Arkham games. The plan was to announce this game at the Video Game Awards this year but that fell apart.”
He goes on to say:
“The coolest part about this project are the collectible skins. Each skin determines his move set and his weaknesses. The more powerful incarnations of Superman are harder to obtain, obviously. All of the movie incarnations of Superman are in as well as many of the comic versions. You can also play as Cyborg Superman, Zod, and even Nuclear Man from the God-awful Superman IV film (easter egg skin).”
What is interesting is how he is apparently violating an NDA. He said this:
“Violating my NDA as a way to stick it to WB Montreal and the way that WB has treated this company. As a result, I have to be careful about what I say and don’t say. I figure that I can say quite a bit and still retain anonymity but I can’t say anything or phrase things in a way to incriminate myself or give away what area of the game I’m working on.”
During an AMA session on Reddit, Sefton Hill from Rocksteady has confirmed that the studio is developing a new project not related to Batman, but did not disclose further details.
This is all exciting news but you have to take it all in with a grain of salt and none of this information has been confirmed as true. Nevertheless, it is juicy stuff.
