Digital Shop Displays What Seems to be Cyberpunk 2077 Release Date Alongside Game
Excitement levels are set to skyrocket with the bit of news that has just reached us. Cyberpunk 2077, the highly anticipated game from developer CD Projekt Red, may be coming pretty soon. Following The Witcher 3‘s success, gamers everywhere have waited eagerly for news concerning CDPR’s next project. Since they’ve decided to delve into a new genre, bracing us for sci-fi conventions, we’ve eagerly awaited any news regarding this rather mysterious title. Now we may finally have a release date.
Evidence comes from a Swedish-based digital product store, where Cyberpunk 2077 is currently listed. The store, known as Komplett, originally set the game’s dedicate page with very little information. But reddit users have since noted that the page has been updated, and the update came in the form of a release date. By all accounts, it seems the Cyberpunk 2077 release date will be September 30, 2017, less than a year away(See sources down below). In conjunction with rumors, the probability of this being the actual release date is high. We know CD Projekt RED has a date in mind, yet hasn’t officially confirmed anything.
On top of a release date, more information on the site suggests a beta, as well as an accompanying announcement in February. But to take everything with a grain of salt is understandable. Nothing’s official until it’s “official.”
Back in October, we delivered news about the comprehensive features CD Projekt RED would build in Cyberpunk 2077 (you can find that article here). And from everything we’ve learned thus far, this is a greater undertaking than The Witcher 3. Which is saying alot when measuring its sheer content, and counting all those game awards. But it makes sense since multiplayer will apparently be a facet of this title, and new for CDPR. With a bigger team, more features, and a powerful predecessor, Cyberpunk 2077 is arguably now the most anticipated release of 2017.
Hitherto, CD Projekt RED has stated that they like to take their time making games. This would explain why they haven’t announced anything, lest they jump the gun. Their reputation for respecting players and delivering pure quality, however, makes it tough not to be excited.
