Ubisoft Apologizes For Extremely Naked Model
Yesterday we told you about some naked characters appearing in Watch Dogs 2 with one of them being particularly explicit. Today, Ubisoft has been forced to apologize after PlayStation 4 users reportedly had their PSN accounts banned for sharing ‘graphic’ screenshots of naked non-player character models from Watch Dogs 2.
According to users on social media (NSFW image), Sony has been suspending users’ access to its online network for up to a month for sharing screen captures of said NPCs via the PS4’s built-in share options. In an official statement, Ubisoft apologized and said that although the game holds a mature rating, one particular NPC model was rendered in a “particularly explicit” way – and vowed to cover the female character’s modesty in a patch due for release later this week.
The publisher’s full statement reads:
“We’re aware that one of the NPC models in Watch Dogs 2 is rendered in a way that is particularly explicit. While Watch Dogs 2 is a mature-rated game, we apologize and will update this NPC model to make it more consistent with other NPC models in the game in a patch to be released this week. We also are working with our first-party partners to ensure that players can continue to play and share all content from the game within the bounds of the first parties’ respective codes of conduct.”
