Could ‘Death Stranding’ Only Be a Temporary PS4 Exclusive?
Death Stranding was announced with one hell of a bang at E3 this year. Hideo Kojima made his way down the stage at the Sony E3 press conference like a god among men with the raucous crowd applauding with thunderous approval. The separation from Konami was complete and he was ready to showcase his new game. Featuring Norman Reedus, most notably of The Walking Dead fame, the Death Stranding trailer didn’t really explain anything of what the game was about but we all knew we wanted it and we all were told it was a PlayStation 4 exclusive. We believed it too… until now.
Now this has to be treated as 100% rumor, especially because the source is anonymous, but Spanish website Hobby Consolas is reporting that the exclusivity of Death Stranding to the PS4 is only 18 months long. This would mean that after that 18th month, Kojima would be free to move that game to other platforms such as the Xbox One, PC or even the Nintendo Switch. The source is said to be someone in close relation with Kojima Productions but admittedly the whole lack of links or sourcing makes this rather suspect. Just who is this mysterious source? Inquiring minds would like to know!
We’re still a very long way away from seeing Death Stranding come to life as it is still only in its pre-production phase but we’ll definitely be keeping our ears to the ground for any information that may substantiate this rumor. Keep it locked to COGconnected for more information as we have it.
