New Details Emerge for Cyberpunk 2077
CD Projekt RED has done its part to earn the respect of gamers worldwide. With the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt they included a ton of free DLC and the paid DLC was worth its weight in gold. By treating their customers with respect they’ve really and truly earned that respect back. Along with that respect comes a reputation… a reputation of making amazing games. It’s no surprise then that the expectations for Cyberpunk 2077 are through the roof and something is telling us that we won’t be let down.
In a recent article on PC World, we were able to glean a bit more information into some of the conceptual aspects of the game all due to a grant filed by CDPR for public assistance on some key aspects of the game. Now, we were at the mercy of Google Translate but what came through was this:
CD Projekt Red has requested funding for the following:
- “City Creation – comprehensive technology for the creation of “live”; playable in real time, the city’s large-scale, which is based on the principles of artificial intelligence and automation, and takes into account the development of innovative processes and tools to support the creation of high-quality games with open world”
- “Animation Excellence – comprehensive technology enables a significant increase in the quality and productivity of complex animations face and body for games RPG with open world, also taking into account the innovative process solutions and a unique set of dedicated tools.”
- “Cinematic Feel – comprehensive technology for providing a unique, film-quality RPG with open world, also taking into account the innovative process solutions and unique set of dedicated tools”
- “The generic support cross-platform multiplayer video games for popular consoles and operating systems”
You might have to re-read the statements a few times to really get them but essentially CDPR is asking for funding to create systems and technology that exceed anything they already accomplished with The Witcher 3. They are looking for significant increases in animation, presentation, and scope. Another interesting point is the support for ‘cross-platform multiplayer’ which may indicate we’re looking at play between consoles.
All we know for sure at this point is that Cyberpunk 2077 is high on our list of anticipated games. Keep it locked to COGconnected for more information as we have it.
