FIFA 17 Launches on Early Access, With a String of Stellar Review Scores

FIFA 17 Off To A Great Start

FIFA 17 will be available in North America on September 27 and worldwide September 29, but EA Access members on Xbox One and Origin Access members on PC can play up to 10 hours of FIFA 17 now. Members can unlock special custom EA Access and Origin Access FUT kits by completing a limited-time Squad Building Challenge. These challenges will only be available during the Play First Trial. Complete the challenge and your reward will carry over to FIFA 17 if you purchase the game.

The good news doesn’t end there as the game is scoring higher than FIFA 16. FIFA 16 had a Metacritic average of 82, while 17 is averaging 86 (with 22 reviews in) on Xbox One. Over 10 sites (including us) gave the game a score of 90 or more. We said this about the game:

“FIFA 17 comes jam-packed with the all-new Journey Mode, Pro Clubs, Career Mode, Ultimate Team, and even more experiences proving that it is the most feature complete and wholesome football sim in the history of the genre. While FIFA 16 turned out to be a little bit of a let-down as the months rolled on, FIFA 17 sidesteps that issue with an enormous amount of lasting appeal built on top of the core gameplay. While FIFA 10 and FIFA 13 made huge leaps forward on the gameplay front, FIFA 17 brings it all together. From the world-class presentation to the familiar mechanics, FIFA 17 delivers the most holistic football experience ever.”

Members of EA Access and Origin Access will have a chance to experience the power of Frostbite before anyone else in the all-new cinematic mode, The Journey. And with transformative gameplay innovation, the game lets fans own every moment on the pitch with an overhaul to Physical Play, a Set Piece Rewrite, New Attacking Techniques and a brand new Active Intelligence System.
