PlayStation Neo Rumors Continue
Much to our surprise, Sony did not show off the PlayStation 4 Neo at E3 this year; however, this hasn’t slowed down all the leaks and rumors. In June, we reported the PS4 Neo will arrive this year and won’t be as powerful as the Xbox One Scorpio. In July, Amazon Spain leaked some information on the new console. Today, according to a report from French outlet Gameblog, Sony will reveal the PlayStation Neo during a special event being held in New York on Wednesday, September 7.
A rough translation from Gameblog’s report reveals the following:
“while all indications pointed to an announcement of the PS4 Neo at the Tokyo Game Show in September, our sources tell us an announcement on 7 September in New York.”
“Our sources are clear: Sony [is] planning an event next Wednesday, September 7 in New York. An event that we mentioned large enough to house a major announcement: the PS4 Neo.”
Interestingly enough, the site also suggests that Nintendo NX could be revealed one week later, during the week of September 12 – the same week the Tokyo Game Show begins.
It should be noted Sony has confirmed that the PlayStation Neo is in development; however, they have yet to announce when the more powerful version of the PS4 will be revealed or when it’s due to go on sale. So take this info with a grain of salt.
