Deathstroke Confirmed as Villain in Next Batman Stand Alone Movie

Footage of Deathstroke Appeared Earlier This Morning

The next Batman stand alone flick will feature the ruthless assassin Deathstroke confirmed by The Wrap today. Ben Affleck gave us a sneak peek on Twitter earlier this morning, It’s unclear if this is from the new Justice League movie coming out next year, or test footage from the solo Batman movie in the works.

Today, Ben Affleck posted on Twitter a link to what is a cell phone shot of a screen and it shows the villain walking towards the screen. While no direct mention is made of the mercenary, his resemblance is uncanny. An insider from The Wrap confirmed later on that Deathstroke will in fact challenge Bats’ in the upcoming solo film.


Deathstroke was first introduced in the second issue of “The New Teen Titans” in 1980. Deathstroke was created  by Marv Wolfman and George Perez, he eventually paralleled into other universes becoming a nemesis of Batman and Green Arrow. While Slade Wilson (Deathstroke) has appeared on CW’s Green Arrow, this will be his first appearance on the big screen.

The next Batman stand alone movie will be directed by the Dark Knight himself Ben Affleck. Earlier in March, Ben teased that he was working on a project with DC but didn’t reveal anything else. Affleck later confirmed at CinemaCon alongside Warner Bros that Batman was a go.

No release date is set for the new film but until then we have the upcoming Justice League movie coming out, it’s entirely possible that he will be introduced in The Justice League and return for the next Batman.
