One Of E3’s Freshest Titles, Overcooked! Is Coming This August
We here at COGconnected really enjoyed what we saw of Overcooked!. It’s a fresh idea that is a total blast to play with a group, and it’s going to be making its way into your kitchen (or living room, if you prefer) very soon. To help build some hype, they’ve got a brand new trailer, which shows off more of the seriously creative gameplay that left us with a big grin on our face.
For those who may not have heard of this title, Overcooked! is a co-operative cooking game that puts you in more than one kitchen. You’ll cook meals in restaurants, sure, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. YOu’ll cook in traffic, on the high seas, and even in deep space, and each level has a unique mechanic that makes something as simple as making a hamburger a real tricky challenge.
This bombastic indie title is being cooked up by a two man team over at Ghost Town Games, and it’s shaping up to be a real surprise hit. For those who love fresh multiplayer experiences, you’ll want to toss Overcooked! on the cutting board and get to work, because the various pieces of this game are shaping up to be one tasty dish.
Overcooked features:
·        28 standard campaign levels plus an additional introductory level and final boss to conquer!
·        Local co-op play for 1 to 4 players across all campaign levels!
·        9 versus levels to go head to head locally with either 2 or 4 players
·        A range of different and unusual kitchens to play across with different recipes to master, cook soup, burritos, burgers and fish and chips
·        14 different chefs to play as!
·        11 achievements to cook up
Across all of Overcooked’s levels, you’ll face all sorts of challenges, but thankfully, you won’t be alone (although you can play the entire game solo, if you wish). You and three other friends will feed all the hungry mouths across The Onion Kingdom, but you’ll need to bring your A-game, or your efforts in the kitchen are just going to come up raw.
Overcooked is set to be served up on August 3rd for Xbox One, PC, and PS4 for $16.99. If you’re truly starving though, you can pre-order the game right now on its Steam page. If you’re in Europe, you can pre-order it on the European PSN store page too. We imagine the other regions will be able to pre-order it shortly as well.
