Halo Wars 2 gets an Open Beta and launch date confirmation at E3 2016
Today at Microsoft’s E3 2016 Press Conference, 343 Industries’ Dan Ayoub confirmed what had been rumored up to now – that the much-anticipated title Halo Wars 2 will be kicking off an Open Beta this week, starting as of the Press Conference.
In addition, Ayoub revealed that the official launch date for the title will be February 21st, 2017. That changes what had previously been assumed was a Fall 2016 release date. The open Beta will apparently run until June 20th, according to rumors. A screenshot of Halo Wars 2 leaked online recently – check it out:
Halo Wars 2 is a follow-up to Halo Wars from 2009. That game was made by Ensemble Studios, but the sequel is being overseen by Total War studio Creative Assembly. The game will launch exclusively on Xbox One, as well as Windows PC and will be one of the Xbox Play Anywhere titles recently discussed by Microsoft at their presser.
