Skylanders Academy Will Be Voiced By Some Familiar Faces
Activision just revealed their first ever Netflix show Skylanders Academy will debut on the streaming behemoth’s platform. The program was originally announced back in November 2015 but no word was said about who would be airing it.
The show-runner behind Skylanders Academy will be Eric Rogers who previously wrote for Futurama, Justin Long (Live Free, Die Hard) will voice Spyro, Norm Macdonald (Dirty Work) will play Glumshanks, Jonathan Banks (Breaking Bad) as Eruptor and Ashley Tisdale (Highschool Musical) will take on Stealth Elf.
Here is Activision’s description of the upcoming show:
“The series follows the heroic adventures of the Skylanders team, a group of heroes with unique elemental skills and personalities who travel the vast Skylands universe, protecting it from evil-doers and showing the next wave of Academy cadets how to do things the ‘Skylander way.'”
The Skylanders franchise is worth over $3 billion dollars and sold over 250 million toys. It’s no surprise that Activision is taking the franchise to the next level.
In other Activision Blizzard news, there are plans to release a series of Call of Duty movies in the works but no official release date or information is available, Activision has only stated that “a robust cinematic universe” is being made for multiple movies slated to release in 2018 and 2019.
