Ubisoft Files New Trademark for Beyond Good and Evil – Sequel Incoming?

Rumours surfaced last month that the sequel to fan favorite Beyond Good and Evil was being funded by Nintendo to be exclusively released to the Nintendo NX platform. Apparently a recent trademark filing was placed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office by Ubisoft for ‘Beyond Good & Evil’ with a number of different class designations noted. Everything from game software with an online component to paper products, clothing and more.

This doesn’t necessarily mean anything on its own but it certainly could be pointing towards a soon to be seen reveal if a sequel happens to be on the way. On the other hand this could simply be Ubisoft making a move to re-secure ownership of the Beyond Good and Evil franchise.

Originally announced way back in 2008, the sequel to Beyond Good and Evil has been in flux ever since. Series creator, Michael Ancel insists that it’s still coming but details, apart from rumours like the one mentioned above, have been hard to come by. In all reality, the likelihood of a true sequel hitting consoles (or one specific console) is high as the original game is widely considered to be an absolute classic.
