Nintendo Halting Production of the Wii U Console By End of 2016

According to a Japanese report that has been translated by Dr. Serkan Toto it looks as if Nintendo will be ceasing the production of the Wii U console by the end of this year. Also in the report it states that some Wii U accessories have already stopped being made and Nintendo will simply let stocks of said accessories deplete. This marks a very short run for a Nintendo console as the machine only saw release here on November 18th of 2012. If you want to get your hands on a new one perhaps it’s time to hit stores before they disappear of the shelves!

Wii U sold out

Before Nintendo fans get too excited there is no mention of the Nintendo NX console. We know that more will be said about the upcoming console this year, with information likely dropping at E3, but for now we have nothing more to give you. With the end of the line for the Wii U firmly in sight now it would make sense that the focus will be shifting to the Nintendo NX.
