If you’re a Gears of War fan you are likely frothing at the mouth to finally see the franchise hit the current gen with a new game. Sure the remastered Gears of War: Ultimate Edition was pretty badass but a new game running at a sweet 60fps in 1080p is enough to get any fan of the series squealing. Well, you’re time has nearly arrived as the multiplayer beta for the much anticipated Gears of War 4 is set to drop on April 18th.
Beginning on April 18, fans who’ve played Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on Xbox One or Windows 10 will begin to receive tokens in waves for early access to the beta. Following the conclusion of early access on April 24, all qualifying Xbox Live Gold members on Xbox One will be invited to join the beta until it ends on May 1.
In addition, Microsoft is extending the time frame for Gears of War: Ultimate Edition players to qualify for early access to the Gears of War 4 beta from March 1 to April 11. To qualify, just log on to Xbox Live and play Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on Xbox One or Windows 10 by 11 p.m. PDT, April 11. That’s great news for those of you who still want to get in on the experience.
Gears of War 4 has been in development in Vancouver, BC by The Coalition for sometime now so seeing the game on the horizon is quite exciting indeed. While we don’t have a concrete release date yet it’s slated to arrive in 2016. Signs of the beta coming to life adds some certainty to that and a delay looks unlikely. Rejoice Gears of War fans… it’s almost here.
