Here are the handy steps that you’ll have to follow, courtesy of NeoGAF user bidguy.

  1. Make a dummy account, set the region to Japan (this is only if you’re scared your main account may get banned). Set the Xbox One as your primary console.
  2. Buy Xbox credit (yen) from Microsoft store (set region to Japan, search for yen cards on the site. They will be sent to you within seconds).
  3. Buy the game, enter a Japanese address (you can use a hotel, or the U.S. embassy in Tokyo, for instance).
  4. Set your Xbox region to U.S. or U.K. or wherever you live.
  5. Download the game,

Of course, there are no guarantees that this loophole won’t be closed by Microsoft, so you’ll follow the steps above exclusively at your own risk, but if you can’t wait for Dark Souls III and don’t have the ability to read Japanese, now you have a way.
