This past weekend we have been fully immersed in EA Sports Rory McIlroy PGA Tour (check out our official preview here) as we prep for our review which will go live this Tuesday.
In the game we get the usual banter between the commentators, sounds of birds chirping and reactions from the crowd after making a shot. More specifically we get the odd one-liner from fans after blasting a shot.
We heard “get in the hole” quite a few times, but on a couple of occasions we heard “Baba Booey”.
Golf fans either love it or hate it, but we love hearing spectators yelling snappy one-liners after a players shot, especially “Baba Booey”.
It is a completely ridiculous phrase which is a reference to Howard Stern’s executive producer, Gary Dell’Abate. If you are fan of the show or watch professional golf on a regular basis there is no question you have heard it in action.
Fans of the game have long since argued whether the chant is good for the game or not. Regardless, we can confirm it’s in the game.
Now if only they would include a “Yabba Dabba Doo” chat.
Rory McIlroy PGA Tour is set to release on July 14 for the Xbox One and PS4.
