New Nintendo 3DS XL Metallic Blue to Get U.S. Release

Online retailer Play-Asia has listed a Metallic Blue 3DS XL for the U.S., and says it will be released next month.

On February 13th, the New Black and New Red color variations of the New Nintendo 3DS XL were made available in North America, but Metallic Blue was only made available in Europe and Japan. That appears to be changing soon.

In an interview last month, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime did suggest that some special models might show up in retailers soon – and now his comments seem to be proving true.

New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL debuted in Japan October 11th, 2014. The smaller version, New Nintendo 3DS, has yet to be released in North America.

The New models have built-in NFC compatibility; that means Amiibo figures can be scanned on the system’s lower screen without having to use the Nintendo 3DS NFC Reader/Writer Accessory.

Keep in mind that the Metallic Blue color scheme has yet to be officially announced by Nintendo.
