Getting Destroyed in Code Vein is Punishing and Brilliant – Raw Gameplay

Code Vein is Merciless in E3 Gameplay

Souls-like games often want their titles’ comparison to the iconic franchise to end there, only tipping its cap to the precision gameplay and dire consequences. While many entries have failed to stand out above the rest, a number have taken their inspiration and created a truly unique version of the Souls format. Code Vein has been a title in the works for some time, but at E3 it was there present in full force to show off the latest adaption of the punishing genre which also happens to come from Bandai Namco. We jumped in for ourselves to see just how brutal this game could be, wielding a sword that would make Cloud Stryfe blush. Check it out below.

Code Vein is an upcoming Souls-like game also from Bandai Namco. Players take the role of anime-styled vampires in an apocalyptic setting where precise combat and consuming blood are both necessary for survival. You’ll also have an AI partner to help you travel the land and defeat enemies which seems like a pretty competent character overall. Not many details have come out about the game as of yet, but be sure to keep it locked here on COGconnected to learn more as we inch closer to release date.

Code Vein is set for release on August 28, and will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. For more information on the game, check out the official website.
