Credit to Shenmue Dojo for both finding out about this new trailer and for capturing these screenshots. If you want to view the trailer itself then Gameblog has you covered. It’s currently not confirmed which exact build of Shenmue III is seen in the trailer but at the bottom right of some of the screenshots there’s a description that reads “Alpha Footage”.

According to Shenmue III’s publisher Deep Silver, it got delayed in order to give the developers more time to “polish” the game. “The extra time will be used to polish the quality of the game even further, to the high standards it deserves and release the product in the best possible timeframe,” Deep Silver said.

Series creator Yu Suzuki apologized for Shenmue III getting delayed and explained that, “After much discussion with our partners, Deep Silver, we have concluded that extending the release will allow us to deliver Shenmue III at its best.”

“We promise to use this time to improve the quality of Shenmue III,” said Suzuki.

Shenmue III is currently planned to be released in 2019 for the PC and PS4.
