According to the Microsoft Store, Xbox One and PC players will be able to play Final Fantasy XV together. While there are multiple versions coming to PC: Steam, Origin, and Windows, you’ll have to purchase the last in order to engage console players. Of course, if you aren’t interested in crossplay functionality at all, you can simply select the copy that comes with your preferred pre-order bonuses. However, you may miss out on certain PC mods because of the Universal Windows Platform (UWP) stipulations. But the Windows Edition comes with the following capabilities:

  • Xbox Live online co-op (2-4)
  • 4K Ultra HD
  • HDR
  • Single player
  • Xbox Live cross-platform co-op
  • Xbox Live achievements
  • Xbox Live presence
  • Xbox Live cloud saves
  • Xbox Live

In case you’re wondering how you’ll play with others in a single-player only game, that’s simple. While Square Enix launched Final Fantasy XV as a single-player, open-world RPG, they’ve since released the Comrades multiplayer DLC. The DLC is available in all the aforementioned copies and comes with a multitude of single-player features. Hence, if you have any friends on Xbox One, the Windows Version provides a little more of a bonus for your buck. Besides, if you’re reading this and have yet to play the game, you’re already receiving more than you can ask for. You can see for yourself in our review.

Happy gaming.
