Take This Chance to Do That Laser Dance
Wasn’t Tron just, so great? I mean, it could have been better. You’ll surely think so once you get a chance to play Laser League, which is holding an online field test starting this Friday. Picture the light-cycle races in a much smaller arena with a faster match time and no bikes. Yeah, just like that.
Laser League tasks you with eradicating the other team using only your wits and a wide variety of deadly laser traps. Admittedly your wits aren’t your primary weapon in this scenario. The traps are preset throughout the arena, with the fastest players being the ones to activate them. Teamwork is essential here, as you need to cover the maximum amount of ground in just a few seconds. The matches are over in the blink of an eye, which means you’re defeat/humiliation/retribution cycle is a pretty tight one.
The online field test begins on Friday, October 27 at 7 AM PST and runs until Sunday October 29th at 7 PM PST. You can sign up for said test on their site. There’s no concrete release date for the full game yet, but the team is aiming for a 2017 release.
