Overwatch Shoots Past the 30 Million Player Mark Today

Overwatch Hits Huge Milestone Today

We all know and love the hugely popular MOBA that is Overwatch and today Blizzard announced on Twitter that the title has hit the 30 million player mark across all platforms! This is just three months after they announced that the popular first-person shooter had reached over 25 million players.

This announcement follows those like Rocket League, however this is the fastest Blizzard game to achieve such a feat! From January when it was announced that Overwatch had hit the 25 million player mark, to now, the game has been growing exponentially, with 5 million more players! Before that Blizzard announced that the popular title reached 20 million registered players back in October, meaning that there has been a steady incline of players, with an additional 5 million every three months! These numbers are sure to increase with the new maps we told you about earlier this week.

As Overwatch launched back on May 24th of last year, this is a huge milestone achieved in under a full year on the market.  It should be mentioned that this does not mean that 30 million copies have been sold, rather that 30 million players are on the game, including those who have more than one account. Overwatch is currently available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, where you’ll find more than 30 million people trying to stop the payload!
