Say Hello to the Super Mario-Themed Bar That Just Opened

That Awkward Moment When the Super Mario Bar Needs Plumbing Done

For the fans who need their daily fill of Super Mario, say hello to the bar that just opened in Washington D.C. Formed within the Cherry Blossom Pub, this new venue brings a fantastic blend of Super Mario and his place of origin – Japan.

Literally, drink your fill of Mario with the ‘It’s A Me, A Mario’ cocktail, then bask in the ornamentation inspired by the land of our 8-bit hero. Your typical yellow blocks, then a palette of mushrooms decorating the interior provide a unique sense in-game immersion–ironically, without the game. Moreover, waiters dressed as Luigi and Mario deliver the finishing touch. Now, whether or not they act the part, you’ll have to visit to find out.

The Cherry Blossom Pub was established by The Drinking Company. Naturally, the company’s own Derek Brown is a fan. “Japan has always been a source of inspiration for me and, as a native Washingtonian, cherry blossom season is something we look forward to every year,” declared Brown. “This pop-up brings together some of my favorite things under one roof, including both classic cocktails and Mario nostalgia.”
