Bottom line, PlayStation 4 firmware update 4.55 offers more stability for PS4 users and that is a great thing. The update weighs in at 324.1 MB so it’s not too beefy. Also, several users are reporting that the update fixes some WIFI issues, although the official release notes only mention a system stability update.

  • This system software update improves the quality of the system performance.

As we told you several weeks ago, Sony delivered the big 4.50 system update which comes with a host of new features, including: external HDD support, PSVR improvements, GIF support, voice chat for remote play, custom wallpaper and profile colours, and boost mode. Unfortunately, the update also came with some WiFi issues affecting a number of users. So hopefully this latest update fixes some of those WiFi issues. So far we are hearing it has.
