GameStop Hops Aboard the Scorpio Train, Calling it “Gamer Friendy”

We Speculate More and More over How Scorpio Will Change Gaming

One of the largest names in gaming retail, GameStop, has expressed their faith in Microsoft’s upcoming Scorpio project. The console is liable to laucnh with a gaming lineup that will move the behemoth from shelves. That is what we deduced from the latest financial earnings call, anyhow.

GameStop proved quick in announcing the success of Nintendo Switch sales; that, along with PSVR, is delivering quite a bit of income, the Switch, in particular, moving faster than they can stock shelves. But, the company announced greater prospects thanks to the impending Scorpio. “In physical gaming there have been cyclical declines without question, but we have very strong cards to play in Nintendo Switch, Sony VR and Microsoft Scorpio”, said GameStop CEO Paul Raines.

Chief Operating Officer Tony Bartel went so far as to claim Microsoft’s system a “gamer friendly powerful console.” Not only will it be powerful, it will appeal to gamers like no other Xbox console. And this isn’t the first case of praise for its power. Behind the scenes, devs and testers are consistently surprised by this inconspicuous console’s capabilities. Additionally, Xbox head Phil Spencer has set it to launch with a great game lineup that utilizes its hardware.

Hence, Scorpio and the titles it brings with it shall serve a strong point for GameStop’s financial earnings during the holiday season. They are calling it “a very powerful system that’s really made for 4K.” They couldn’t say much more other than its being “gaming centric.” Hopefully, we’ll appreciate the game lineup as much as the Scorpio specs. 4K is currently achievable with Sony’s PS4 Pro, so we’re curious about what else Xbox might bring to the table.
