Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana Supports 4K on PS4 Pro – Will Have Visual Improvements and Seamless Loading Time Among Other Improvements

Along with the announcement of the PS4 version of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana, the Weekly Famitsu and Dengeki PlayStation gave us some interviews that provided the real details of the improvements that they’ll be making to Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana compared to the PS Vita title. Among those improvements, we’ll be getting Ys VIII in sweet, sweet 4K resolution on PlayStation 4 Pro.

The jump from 30 to 60 FPS isn’t all that’s in store. The game will have major graphics detail upgrades for distance and transparency, illuminating the islands and elements. Transitions between areas are now seamless, although they did not mention whether or not the long loading times that were present in the PS Vita version had been completely removed on top of this.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana was released locally for PS Vita on July 21st, 2016, and comes out in Japan for PlayStaion 4 on May 25, 2017. No western release date has been announced, but hopefully that will be coming soon.
