First Batch of Xbox Design Lab Controllers Shipping September 1st

Your Custom Xbox Design Lab Controllers Will Be In Your Hands Soon

The ability to customize your own Xbox controller was announced this past E3, and it’s definitely one that resonated with the fans. The ability to create your own tool used to explore vast worlds, fight hordes of monsters, and smack-talk each others mothers while playing online is shipping the first batch of orders on September 1st, so those who ordered their custom designs will be getting their hands on their Xox Design Lab Controllers very, very soon.

The tool promises at least 8 million variations in controller designs, and there are some impressive color combinations you can pull off that definitely aren’t garden variety. You can customize essentially every component of the controller, allowing for you to put your own unique spin on an Xbox Design Lab Controller, but if you’re feeling frisky, you can even get yours laser engraved, should you want to really make it special.

The feature is only available in North America right now, however they are looking to expand within 2017. Those in the EU will have to wait to get their hands on a customized Xbox One controller, but with how popular the new program seems to be, we imagine that Microsoft will be giving the world the ability to make their own Xbox Design Lab Controllers sooner rather than later. Perhaps the range of customizations will expand as well? Time will tell, in that case.

While the first batch may already be in the midst of being set up to ship, you can still head on over to the site to get your creative juices flowing. The controllers retail for an MSRP of $79.99, but will be a bit pricier should you opt to put a laser engraving on them. That being said, to have your own controller that’s truly unique is also pretty damn cool.
